ONOW Myanmar, together with Third Story Project, aimed to teach and educate the children of Myanmar through the power of story books. The two organisations wrote and published a children’s storybook on the importance of saving. The release of the book was timed with Global Money Week, during a launch event held for children and parents. The event including story acting, interactive financial literacy activities, a public reading of the new story, and a donation of the book to the children in attendance. In total, 1,000 book copies were donated by the partners. ONOW Myanmar also converted the book into a digital experience on Facebook, so that families across the country can read the book and learn about savings.
2017 Myanmar Global Money Week
For the first time, Global Money Week was celebrated in Myanmar through the participation of Third Story Project – a social enterprise that aims to teach and educate children of Myanmar through the power of story books.
In line with Global Money Week and the support of KBZ Bank, Third Story Project launched a line of financial literacy short story books that specifically address issues relevant to the children of Myanmar, and their context for financial literacy.
In addition, children also presented a play to the Third Story Project Team and KBZ Bank on financial literacy.
